In the first part of this episode Ginger talks about Being a cosmetic chemist for over 25 years; How her mom was the first woman to set up a boutique in Japan in the 1960s; she grew up in the beauty industry, wanted to become a make-up artist; Why cultural expectations meant she had to study in university (chemistry); fulfilled her own passion working at Estee Lauder cosmetic counter and minored in marketing; How she hustled, networked, relocated all over California to New York, bounced from company to company to learn the ins-and-outs of the beauty industry; Why she is so concerned about ingredients in traditional lip balms in the market; How she launched her own brand; leveraged her massive network of connections; offered free favors to beauty magazines to bank on press and promotions; What changes she’s made post-covid19- promoting the healthy ingredients, offering free hand cream, in line with the trend of people becoming more health-conscious, and more.
